REVIEW - Vince & Dave's Visit | Étang Rouge Fishery

Wow… what can we say other than an exceptionally good week with Jeff and Shan at Etang Rouge. This was mine and my Brothers first big carp trip abroad and Jeff couldn’t be any more helpful to us. Nothing was ever too much trouble, Jeff was happy to message or take a call with any questions leading up to the trip… Shan was busy helping/ suggesting flight options from the North West (even though we chose to fly from Stansted in the end)

The week started off with a cooked breakfast on arrival… then straight into the fishing! I hooked my PB of 35.5lbs within an hour of setting the traps!! My brother was also off the mark within a few hours! We both caught some amazing fish through the week with my brother smashing his PB with a 41.5lb Mirror on the last day. We had a few days of 30 degree heat and thunderstorms like I’ve never seen before which made for difficult fishing at times , but with the “social” shelter… a few cold ones, watching the fish boshing around The lake, the beautiful surroundings, wildlife and general chatter with Jeff and Shan made for a great week and it flew by. Facilities in the anglers rest were spot on… clean tidy and comfortable!

Food was immense… Jeff and Shan prepared a freshly cooked Breakfast roll every morning followed by a fresh filled baguette at lunch. The evening meals were always a proper homely/ hearty meal! It was like home from home! Hats off to Jeff for the Stir-fry

… I hired the boat and Sleeping bag and bought some bits from Jeff’s tackle shop – very reasonable and if you forget anything at all, Jeff will have what you need there.
